Ages had gone by

Black Alberene soapstone carving of a mother and recently hatched baby dragon.

This stone carving started as many do with an idea coming from the natural shape of the block of stone. The story which is carved around the base developed as the carving took shape.

The text reads:
Ages had gone by,
a pale moon cast craggy shadows.
Mother held the broken shell in wonder.
Baby, who had never seen a dragon before, peered cautiously from behind a rock.
